That’s the joke, isn’t it? Women (and & yes this happens to men too!) have overflowing closets and yet still stares blankly into the textile abyss and with a big frustrated sigh saying, “I have NOTHING to wear!” Hilarious. Our clothes are not our enemy. The predicament we are in is all on us! Fortunately, we can avoid this if we could just find out WHY we are always feeling this way!

31-day Instagram Challenge
We look at Instagram and see all these fashion It-Girls whose style-budget is about 10x our annual salary. We scroll their profile in envy, drooling at their cute combos and pieces we could never actually cave to purchase. I am in awe at the completely unattainable high level of awesome some people are serving daily. Are these normal people?!
Well, I am a girl with a normal-sized wardrobe. Not too big, not too small. I don’t own designer purses or shoes. I am very much like every other regular girl out there. I want to do this daily fashion challenge to, first, slap Social Media with a dose of reality. I mean do we really need MORE life-highlight reels? And secondly, I hope when people see my looks, they realize that style is not reserved for the elite. It is accessible to every person with any sized budget.
Style is more than just curing your appearance. I think self confidence, freedom of expression, and social perception are all tied to your style. This is very much a part of who we are and an initial form of communication to everyone we come into contact with. Hopefully my month's posts will provide some inspiration and help you find your own.

Cozy Knits for the Office
I am the one in the office who is constantly wrapped up under a shawl or throw at their desk. I keep reminding my coworkers that I come from a line of Asian tropical islanders so genetically, I cannot handle the cold. But surely, there must be a better way to cope than hiding under a blanket. My only solution is throwing on some CHUNKY THICK ASS SWEATERS lingering in my closet. Now these cozy items are better associated with cuddling and chugging hot chocolate by an open fire, NOT your typical office wear. But I mean, when has that stopped me before?! So this post goes out to all the chilly chicas out there working in an icebox office! Here are some ways I make cozy knits office ready.

What I Wore: Baptism - Jul-12-2015
I attended a
baptism over the weekend. I hate deciding what to wear to religious gatherings
because what’s conservative to me is definitely not at the same level as some
others out there. I find it somewhat of a challenge to express my personality
in a restrictive environment. That’s when my creativity kicks in!

My Favourite Zara Buys
It's on like Donkey Kong!!!!
That's right, Zara's summer bi-annual sale has begun!!! Last Friday was the first day and we are in for a few weeks of deal hunting bliss! and I am talking HELLA good deals! Quality pieces at prices comparable to the likes of H&M and Forever 21, if not BETTER.
With a shit ton of their inventory discounted, it can become overwhelming. Here are some things to look out for...

What to Wear: COFFEE DATE
Coffee dates
are super casual, universal, and a perfect setting for an engaging
conversation. I predict a surge in these dates with Starbucks just launching
their “Happy Hour” or how I like to call it Frappy Hour. With half price
frappuccinos, how can we resist?! I have created some fun, no fuss outfits that
look like you didn’t try.

Trendy Pieces: Spring 2015
Finally!
Spring is here! well...sort of. I was done with winter once Christmas was over. I am looking
forward to the light and easy outfits, fresh colors, and NO SOCKS! Being the
frugal person I am, you know I’m not about buying new outfits season-to-season.
You don’t need to. If you want to be trendy and fashionable all you have to do
is purchase the trend that speaks to you. OR if you are lucky, revive vintage pieces. Here are the things I will be throwing into circulation this spring.

Closet Detox
I live in a country with 4 seasons so twice a year I flip my closet to make it seasonally appropriate. I pull out my heavy knits and jackets in the fall and all my bright and airy clothes in the spring. But because I am a multi-tasker, I always take this opportunity to purge my closet of all the garments I don’t wear! I’m a chronic shopper so I constantly acquire new pieces every season and after a while, I’m storing all these items other people can put to better use. Time for a Closet Detox.

Secrets of a Well-Dressed Woman
To be well-dressed doesn't necessarily mean to be fashionable or on trend. I think it is mostly about looking like you know what you're doing. You carry yourself knowing your outward presentation is an accurate representation of your best self. But I notice a lot of the time people don't know how to do this. They often wish they could externally show who they are and what they feel inside. Dressing well can be quite simple and isn't as restricting as some may think. Keeping these Secrets (more more like practicality) in mind can really help your style game!

Pretty Lingerie Is A Necessity

The sexiest day of the year is coming up! So ladies, I don't care if you are with or without man (or woman) it is vitally important you wear some pretty undergarments! Ok so maybe that was and over exaggeration. But wearing sexy underwear (whatever that means to you) is so important for every woman. And I mean EVERY woman; regardless of age or body type. You NEED this. I'm not trying to be naughty so get your mind outta the gutter and give me a chance to explain...

How To Style: HIS Sweatpants for Work
If you missed my last post, I talked about styling HER sweats for work. Today we will focus on HIM. I feel like this athleisure trend is a Godsend to boys. I could be wrong, this perspective is coming from a woman after all. Compared to women, men have limited choices when it comes to clothing in general. So when companies started selling the “dressy sweatpant” many men leaped for joy! Well at least the ones I know.

How To Style: HER Sweatpants for Work (Winter)
I never thought I would see the day I would wear sweats to work! Alleluia!! As a long time wearer of men’s tapered sweatpants, the athleisure trend has been a HUGE hit with me! Designers have been using the silhouette and comfort of a jogger and converted it to something more luxurious using materials like silk and leather making some styles entirely office appropriate! I’m sure I will have a lot of critics out there who don’t agree with me. That’s okay, to each their own.

We are 10 days 'til Christmas!!! This is the perfect time of the year to bling yourself out! And I don’t mean you have to go out and grab new statement jewelry pieces. I have some ideas how to create new looks with pieces you probably already have.
