Have you spent the last couple of years in a style rut? Or maybe you are just looking for some new ideas to try? Kickstart 2016 by reinventing your style! I have some stress-free resolutions that could break you out of your usual if you choose to keep them!
Put in some effort
Guess what?
You don’t have to look like shit. You don’t need to feel guilty for taking care
of yourself because not only do you deserve it, but there are quick and simple
ways to look put-together. Try some mascara or some well-fitting basics. That’s
really all it takes. You are worth it, so take some pride in who you are! I
guarantee will make you feel better about yourself!
Experiment
People break
style rules all the time. Trends start because people aren’t afraid to try
something new. Mix and match unlikely pieces and see how they work together or
repurpose different items and wear them differently than they were intended. Be
open and take inspiration from anything that moves you. Don’t let the rules
others have made put you in a box.

Resist the
urge to buy something new and just reinvent your style with something you
already have. You can recreate some current trends by tweaking old clothes or
update them by mixing with timeless pieces. As a style enthusiast you probably
have more than you need, you just need to rethink your old favorites.
Try it on
Have you
ever wondered why you can’t pull certain things off? I think maybe it’s because
you have brainwashed yourself into
believing that. Never judge a book by its cover, piece of clothing on a hanger,
or makeup in a pan. It’s hard to tell what can work for you when it’s not on
you.
Not all
fashion pieces are created equally. You can’t just throw them all in the
washing machine together and hope for the best. To increase the longevity of
your items, remember to wash them according to the tags. I wash my colored
items in cold water, hand wash delicates, and dry heavy knits flat to prevent
stretching.
Update your undies
Quit being a critic
Maybe this
year you won’t be so hard on yourself. With all the body positive propaganda
saturating the media, you should already be well on your way to achieving
self-confidence. Right? Keep at it!
