What I Wore: Baptism - Jul-12-2015

I attended a baptism over the weekend. I hate deciding what to wear to religious gatherings because what’s conservative to me is definitely not at the same level as some others out there. I find it somewhat of a challenge to express my personality in a restrictive environment. That’s when my creativity kicks in!

I’m not one to shy away from bold designs and colors. But on special occasions, I like to keep things elegant and proper.  But that doesn’t mean boring! Culottes are have been trending since spring and I am super excited about it! I opted for this red pair with a front panel. Fancy ninja gear, right?! Son of a … this is why I love Zara so damn much! They have mastered the perfect balance between elegant and unique. I topped it off with a very simple sleeveless v-neck crop top (also from Zara) to keep the look clean and modern. I added the holographic pointed toe stiletto I copped at Call It Spring for a futuristic vibe. Now the shoes don’t necessarily have to match the bag. I opted for this Mango snakeskin print clutch.

The fine finishes came in the form of these BEAUTIFUL set my Lola gave me for my graduation. Made from a variety of precious stones arranged in an ornate flower pattern, this just pops with the red culottes. I also added a red accent to my lips by using the Sephora Matte Lip Stain in 09.

This outfit is tasteful for a church ceremony while still being trendy and unique to satisfy my personal style. Though I was rockin’ some serious bling, I think the culottes took center stage with its colour and distinctive silhouette.
