My Favourite Zara Buys

It's on like Donkey Kong!!!!

That's right, Zara's summer bi-annual sale has begun!!! Last Friday was the first day and we are in for a few weeks of deal hunting bliss! and I am talking HELLA good deals! Quality pieces at prices comparable to the likes of H&M and Forever 21, if not BETTER.

With a shit ton of their inventory discounted, it can become overwhelming. Here are some things to look out for...

QUALITY BASICS
Zara does basics right! Check out their Trafaluc line, which offers their more affordable items, or their B&W collection, which leans more towards luxe simplicity. Their tees have yet to shift in shape and remain soft after every wash.

FINE DETAILS
Zara is not really known for and "in-your-face" style. Instead they have a more elegant approach and have pieces that stand out because of their subtle unique details. Look out for interesting pleats or cutouts or hems, metallic or colorful accents, and even mixed media.

A PAIR OF JEANS
Skinny, wide leg, bootcut, high-waisted, colored, etc. No matter the fit, style, or wash, Zara offers a wide variety, all of them being comfortable and flattering. Try them on and witness how AWESOME they feel on the body. You can't really go wrong especially at their sale price point.

ACCESSORIES
With all the beautiful clothing pieces distracting us, it's easy to overlook the great accessories! Statement necklaces and earrings veer from traditional. And the scarves are large, beautifully patterned, and are the perfect weight to take us from summer to winter.

KNITS
My warmest and most comfortable sweaters and cardigans come from Zara. They are both functional AND stylish. I would say they are pretty durable as well, still keeping their shape and not pilling too much.

I put this outfit together from the awesome finds I scored at the sale! I paired a not-so-basic pencil skirt ($12.90 CAD) with a cropped ruffled off the shoulder top ($12.90 CAD), topped with a tribal ring necklace ($5.99 CAD).The skirt is a great example of the fine details I was talking about. The hem is what makes it unique, and the way the basic pattern is laid out emphasizes the hem.

The sale should run a few more weeks and during that time there will be a series of even further markdowns. So good luck and happy shopping!!
