Summer To Fall Transition Pieces 2014

September is here…although I’m in complete denial that my favorite season is over, I can’t help but get excited for the holiday season.  Now this is a tricky month to dress in since it is not quite autumn and not quite summer.  Same goes for my fashion picks.  These pieces are appropriate to wear with both seasons’ pieces.

Ankle boots – Whatever style suits you, (cut outs, combat, classic) these always look good whether you are pairing them with a summer dress, shorts or leather pants.
(Left to right) Top Moda, Zara, Aldo

Large Scarves – One of the most versatile accessories that can take you from the beach to a snowstorm.  I find the perfect scarf for in-between seasons are of medium weight.  A modal-blend works for me.
(Left to right) Urban Outfitters, Covet Chic, Kelly Anne

Kimono – This was one of the hottest items this past summer & this fall is no exception.  Whether the hems of your bottoms are touching your ass cheeks or your ankles you are guaranteed to look fantastic.
(Left to right) Urban Outfitters, Forever 21+, Roxy

Denim button-up shirt – Another versatile layering piece you can wear over (or under) anything, providing just enough warmth! Embellished, plain, faded, or dark washed it all works the same way.
(Left to right) Treasure & Bond, Tobi, Forever 21

Loose knit sweater – The ladies LOVED wearing these over their bikinis this past summer to channel some boho vibes.  This fall you will love layering them over tank tops or under jackets!
(Left to right) Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Theykens' Theory

Jumpsuit – Wear a blazer or cardigan over this trendy piece.  Neutral colored ones like black, brown, leopard, etc. can even take you into winter!
(Left to right) Jimmy Choo for H&M, John Zack, Topshop

Shirt dress – Wear with a pair of tights or bare-legged, this type of dress is perfect for the flip flop in temperature.  Roomy enough for air circulation during the hot days and covered enough so you won’t be freezing during those cold mornings.
(Left to right) Banana Republic, Old Navy, ASOS

Crop tops – The trend that just won’t die!  Use the tops you were wearing with those high waisted shorts/skirts and start wearing them with those high waisted pants/midi skirts and under jackets or button down shirts.
(Left to right) Forever 21, Express, Free People

Don't bust out the heavy knits just yet!  There are so many ways you can use these pieces to help you look good as the weeks get progressively cooler.  The combinations are endless!  What are your favorite transitional pieces?  I’d like to try ‘em out!
