What to Wear: COFFEE DATE

Coffee dates are super casual, universal, and a perfect setting for an engaging conversation. I predict a surge in these dates with Starbucks just launching their “Happy Hour” or how I like to call it Frappy Hour. With half price frappuccinos, how can we resist?! I have created some fun, no fuss outfits that look like you didn’t try.

With Age Old Friends
Throwing on a maxi is the easiest way to get a look. You put it on and there’s your look! You can accessorize as much or as little as you want.  It is flattering AND comfortable which is a rare combo.

With A Romantic Interest
Different from your partner, I am referring to a blind date or a crush. You can never go wrong with your favorite jeans and your fanciest basic tee. It gives off an easy-going vibe but is generic enough to elude some mystery. Meaning it won’t put off your date rather it will intrigue them. You can dress it up or down depending on your style. You can cater to your personality by accessorizing. Here I paired some shoes that are neither too casual or too fancy to keep the outfit toned down but to also looked like I put in some effort.

With Your Mom/Dad
Catching up with mom and/or dad? Keep it somewhat conservative with a structured blouse or a button up shirt and add a unique pop with a fun pair of shorts. Just make sure they aren’t booty-bearing. I would say go with a bright color or a fun print.

With Your Main
With hectic work weeks, you should savor those beautiful lazy weekends with your other half. Just cuz you feel lazy, doesn’t mean you have to look it. Rock the athleisure trend for a sporty chic feel. Comfortable joggers (or athletic leggings) paired with some slide sneakers are super comfortable but look clean and put together. Add a sporty, color-coordinating top and you are good to go

I am a huge fan of coffee dates, not just for the java, but I find it is a comfortable atmosphere. And when people are comfortable, they share a little more of themselves. I appreciate technology but I miss face-to-face interactions. People, unplug and enjoy each other’s company (and the high-calorie frappuccinos).
